041807 Another New Trailer.

‘The Bourne Ultimatum’ trailer has come out and it looks pretty spiffy. Well, the 50% that is not made up of footage from the previous ‘Bourne’ films does. So this is the marketing for the latest film in the trilogy? First, make a poster of the back of Matt Damon’s head, then make a trailer full of footage of the first two movies.... Now just wait for box office gold to strike. Hmmmmmmmm, not exactly encouraging. Still, I think this will be an enjoyable film (I liked the first two, especially ‘The Bourne Identity’). Plus this film is part of the summer of movie sequels that seems to be getting all the buzz. There is the new ‘Harry Potter’ movie, ‘Spider Man 3’, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 3’ and ‘Hostel 2’, to name name a few. While the bevy of sequels are sure to rake in the cash it remains to be seen if any of these flics will actually be any good. ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’ trailer can be seen HERE. 041707Halloween trailer.

A new computer and various technical difficulties are to blame for my lack of updates. At least that is my excuse. For the time being I thought I would post something that is certainly not new but I would say is worth checking out. The trailer for the Rob Zombie written and directed ‘Halloween’ remake has come out and it doesn’t look too shabby. I liked Zombie’s second film ‘The Devil’s Rejects’ (although I never saw his first feature ‘House of 1000 Corpses’) and thought it was better than many of the recent horror flics’. ‘The Devil’s Rejects’ was mostly successful and managed the difficult task of both paying homage to 70s horror flics and standing up on its own. That makes me think ‘Halloween’ could be a winner. The trailer can be seen HERE.

041007 New DVD review.

Bond is back... So I'm a little behind with the review... so sue me.... but like I said Bond is back and so is the review. A new Bond takes over the role. Is it worth seeing? Did he make it work? Check out my review of 'Casino Royal' HERE.

040707 Drew Hayes update.
Cosmic Therapy, the publisher behind ‘Poison Elves’ sent out an email about a memorial fund for Hayes daughter that I was told I could post. In part it read:

 A number of people have written to express their concern for the well-being of Drew Hayes' 14 year old daughter.  Drew's mother has asked me to share this with you;

"Thank you for all of your kind e-mails during this difficult time.  It has been an overwhelming experience for me to see how many lives Drew touched and how he was loved.
Many of Drew's friends have asked if they could make a donation for his daughter, Mary.  In response, I have set up a Drew Hayes Memorial Fund for that purpose.
Donations can be sent to:

"Drew Hayes Memorial Fund"Account #260363
Whatcom Educational Credit Union
PO Box 9750
Bellingham WA  98227-9750

These funds are earmarked for Mary's college years and for no other purpose.  Thank you once again for all of your comforting words.
Sincerely,
Sharon (Drew's mother)"

We will continue to forward your letters to Drew's family for as long as you all have something to say. Please send your thoughts to info@CosmicTherapy.com
Thanks for reading.  Your support is appreciated.

040607 Bob Clark 1941 – 2007.

Another entry in the “it is just a bummer” category. This has been talked about everywhere but I thought I would mention the sad news about filmmaker Bob Clark. Clark and his son were killed on Wednesday when their car was hit by a drunk driver. Clark is probably best known for his film ‘A Christmas Story’. His early directing years contained several horror films, including the just remade ‘Black Christmas’. There was talk that he was to be involved in a remake of Clarks popular 80’s film ‘Porky’s’ as well as a remake of another of his horror films, ‘Children Shouldn’t Play with Dead Things’. A New York Times article about his death can be seen HERE.
